Sami went home

It is with the hope and comfort of Christ that we share with you that our beloved Sami went home to be with the Lord at 1:41 am this morning Tuesday, January 7, 2014. We are thankful for the blessed assurance that Sami is held by the heavenly arms and is in the place where he wanted to be… a place where there is no mourning, crying or pain… and where death is no more. Sami used to repeat this verse from Psalm 73:26 “My flesh and my heart may fail me but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever” He is now forever with One who loved Him to the uttermost and whom he loved to the uttermost.

Visitations will be tomorrow, Wednesday from 7:00-9:00pm at the Raad residence on 4207 Clearwater Ct, Missouri City, TX 77459.

Funeral details will follow.

Jacqueline – Sami was a dear and close friend with an over the top positive, can do sprit. At work he and I had a running contest on who was working the hardest, fastest, best, etc. In truth it never was a contest, I was always playing catch-up to him.. For the past 2 + years Sami has inspired me to look past whatever may be bothering me at the moment, and seek God’s plan. I am heart broken for your loss but once again gain strength in knowing Sami never wavered as he marched toward his eternal reward.

In His Grip.. that is where Sami is right now, and that is where he always have been. Words will not explain, nor would they smooth the sadness that we feel. Sami’s smile and loud voice are a sweet memory. We have to thank the Lord for the great years he allowed us to enjoy Sami around. We may not understand, yet we can only accept. …. Sami is now relaxed and rejoicing.. where he is right now there is no pain and no tears . God is Good.

Just thought of sharing what Sami wrote on his blog at the very beginning .

“Does it mean that I will be healed for sure at the end?  I don’t think that should be my concern.  Who can fully secure his tomorrow?  At this stage, I am enjoying my time with Him.  I am also enjoying the individual revivals that I see surfacing in the lives of ones who are truly seeking prayer on my behalf, or those who have been thinking about getting closer to the Lord and now because of my experience, are being led to seek Him.  For now, there is nothing but rejoicing in the Lord for He is good and in full control.”
    Amen Sami….

What can someone say about Sami that has not already been said…They don’t come livelier, more full of life, or happier, than he did. His always joyous and bubbly personality rubbed on everyone who knew him. He was a larger than life character. Even though Its been really long since we last met in person, his smiley face is so vivid in my memory that it feels it is still 1983 at Beirut University College on our way to a CS class. Such a big loss. The only consolation to all, is that he is currently in a much better place.

” For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun? And what is it to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unincumbered ?”

The Lahoud Family. What a beautiful example of God’s design for a family who follows Christ! Sami has always had this contagious joy that can only come from The Lord! It was evident in the good times and the bad. Our family observed this in all of the Lahouds and their extended families. We were warmly welcomed when we joined the Veritas Christian Academy family 11 years ago when our daughter, Sarah, started 2nd grade with Wadad. We greatly enjoyed our fellowship with all of you, grew in our walks with The Lord, and made some of the best memories of our lives before we moved. I regret that we lost touch with this precious family, and wish I could rewind time and fix that. We will always remember Sami’s big smile and his incredible sense of humor. I know you will all miss him so much! Yes, we know he is at home now with Jesus and no more pain, but it is still so hard for the loved ones left behind. Praise Jesus that you all know that you will see your beloved Sami again. As believers, we all will see him again when we go home, and he will be there with open arms welcoming us once again. We are praying for God’s peace and comfort for you all! You are loved!

Our precious Lahoud family, our hearts break and we will miss our Sami! I will miss our talks between our two houses especially when he was giving me a hard time as block captain. He was the best asst bkock captain ever. I can still see him and Joe going after the water moccasin that got in our pool. I will never forget him coming to the emergency room at 5am to pick up me and Joe after an ambulance had carried me in with a migraine that even the ambulance drivers thought I was having a stroke. And I will never forget the peace and presence of the Lord that Sami brought to my husband the night before bypass surgery to repair an aneurysm. Ourbheart breaks here, but how lucky Heaven is to receive their son home and what a guardian angel we will all have in Sami Lahoud. We love you my friend and miss you. Dear Jacqueline and family, deepest condolences. Sami will be truly missed. As you all know best, he was an extremely caring and thoughtful person who always managed to see the positive aspect of every situation. We are proud to have worked for and learned so much from Sami. We are glad he is in a better place and will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. God bless.

What an incredible man! Sami’s charisma and open spirit were obvious to everyone who met him, and his spiritual witness as he fought his illness clearly inspired others in their faith. I will miss my friend.

Those who knew Sami were enriched by his honesty, kindness and generosity. He was a good childhood friend who instantly made you feel at ease. He was always ready with a joke or prepared to share an interesting experience. I was deeply saddened by the news of his passing but consoled knowing that know he is now in a better place. My heart felt condolences to the family.

Jacqueline, while I am so very sad for your loss, I keep thinking about how wonderful his children are going to be because he was such an amazing father. They will carry the lessons and love that he shared with them. They saw him be an incredible husband and strong witness for the Lord. They saw him be a good friend and a happy person. They will be fine because he was amazing — and they saw it all.

We are so thankful for Sami Lahoud and for the wonderful gift of his time with us, for the joy he brought to our lives and the lives of everyone who loves him. We pray for strength for Sami’s family in their hearts and spirits. Strength to find whatever healing there is in this time and place. We pray for their courage. Mostly we pray for peace. To know that Sami felt peace as the pain faded away and in his spirit as he’s finds his true peace in the arms of Christ. Rest now our dear brother. We’ll see you soon on that great day when we gather in the clouds! 1 Thessalonians 4:14-17

    Dear Jacqueline and Lahoud family,
My heartfelt condolences to all of you as you grieve for Sami. I was a schoolmate of Sami’s at IC during the 1970′s and remember him as a warm, kind-hearted, smart, mischevious, and funny young man!!! He was loved by and will be missed by all! I pray for peace and comfort for all of you in the days ahead! Jesus was surely waiting with open arms for Sami at the entrance of the Gates of Heaven yesterday morning, and Heaven surely gained another angel!
    Sincerely,
    Cecile N. Makhuli
