12-19-12 It doesn’t matter how good it is, if you cannot taste it ! :)

I apologize for the late update, I had to spend 10 days at MDA since I was running fever. They were unable to pin-point the exact reason behind my fever, thus bathed me with all sorts of antibiotics, anti-viral and anti-fungal drugs.  When they finally got rid of the fever (and everything else with it), I was released 4kgs lighter (yes kgs not lbs) … I tell you, this is the way to lose weight if you are desperate to do it ;)- – – when I arrived home, Jacqueline had a large tabouleh bowl for me with fresh french fries … I started salivating all over it and immediately dug into it … then stopped ! ugh … it all tasted like the crepe paper I used to munch on in kindergarden. blah !  Jacqueline immediately tasted the food and commented that it was just fine.  I disagreed and decided to hit the sack since I was very tired. Later that evening, she prepared a delicious laban Immo dish for me … once again, I salivated all over it and immediately dug into it … then stopped ! ugh … I am telling you, it all tasted like the crepe paper I used to munch on in Kindergarden … however, the kids were home by then and they all commented that the food tasted great … hmm … I then decided to contact Dr. Raad 😉 and shared with him the fact that I had no taste buds!!! He then balanced my drugs and removed the one that was killing my taste buds … and voila, within 24 hrs I was back tasting the delicious food of her highness Jacqueline Agha !  mmm, mmm, mmm … no wonder I lost so much weight and was complaining about the food I was getting (lol) – the antibiotic in question was Mynocycline (if you google mynocycline and taste buds, you will get a good number of patients complaining about losing their taste buds while on this medication – lol).

I am still on the miracle drug AC220. It has great reviews on the web. They believe that it might be “THE” drug that will cure Leukemia/AML/FLT3.  To date, I still have zero blast in my blood. They are planning a T-lymphocyte transfusion from my original donor. It should be non-eventfull. However, the next mile stone is my upcoming Bone Marrow Aspiration scheduled for Thursday the 27th.  ouch ! 😉

With that said, we still have full confidence that our Lord is still in full control. Praise His Holy Name !

I thank you all for your prayers and support !  … cannot thank you enough …

Merry Christmas !

In His Grip

Sami

Sami: so much for the audio transcription feature on my new iPhone 5 of my dictation (or more accurately, my proof reading of it!). I failed to notice that Siri heard “Sammy” when I clearly articulated “Sami” until after I posted it! 🙂

      Cheers, Mike

My Dear Brother, you always help me focus on the Lord with you blog. In this case, you have motivated me spiritually and, given the servant’s heart that I have, Gabriel, Michael and I are going to come over and help the kids eat Jacqueline’s cooking.

    Love you all so much,

As for Jacqueline, she has always been talented in everything she did, teslamli inchallah, but i wish she was gifted enough to teach her cousin Maro how to cook 😉 (poor miled, hihihi)…

    Sami,
I am dancing over here for two reasons. First is in celebration of our Mighty God and how He is in control. His hand is so evident in what the researchers are providing for you along this journey. Second, I’m smiling (and still dancing) as I read your blog and I’m so happy you can taste the delicious food that will help you gain those 4kgs back.

    Merry Christmas, brother in Christ.

Love and hugs to you and your sweet family.

    Sami dear,

Words can not describe how strongly your faith has enriched ours, and it spread to so many.

At CrossTalk, we had as theme, the story of Gideon and thanks to you, we emphasized that it is useless if we just know the stories of the Bible and not live them! You are the best example and how beautiful to relate to your words and absolute faith in Jesus Christ. On March 23, 2012 you said ‘I started on a 60% success rate path with almost no side effects… Just before I was getting ready to cross the finish line, my system relapsed…You see, if everything went so smoothly, then the medical world would have received all the credit. However, my odds are now down to a 20%-30% success rate’
You continued by saying, ‘All this reminded me of Gideon – The miraculous power that stems from nothing but weakness and pure faith. 60% was too much in my case – not needed – nah! – such a high percentage will get all the credit in the wrong places (are you with me?). He had to drop it by more than 50% and surround it with nothing but uncertainties … and then see who is still standing … well, I am … yes indeed I am still standing (Ephesians 6:13)’

Thank you Sami, for spreading the Word to us!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
    In Christ,
    Ranya Nasrallah
