June 1, 2012 : Day 1

I am ultra drugged up at this stage, so forgive me if I don’t make much sense.  I will try to provide a short update before I doze off and depart to lala land  again 🙂

When the Stem Cells arrived, we were all very touched by the generosity of our donor.  We could feel his presence through his stem cells … i.e, a piece of him arrived to save the day … wow … He was willing to do it all over again … endure the pain … even though he does not know me from Adam …. what a generous and loving person … he left us speechless.

The Stem Cells transfusion took ~6 hours without any “major” issues. PTL – I am now under a protective watch for the next 30 days, waiting until the cells graft within my bone marrow.  I am getting all sort of nausea, graft vs host and pain numbing medication.  So far so … “high”, meaning that this med is making me drowsy and sleepy …  (hu hu) … thus slowing down my speech, i.e.  making me talk in slo000w motion … which everyone around me seems to really enjoy !! (lol)

We are taking it one day at a time, fully trusting the Lord that this “is it”.
As usual, I cannot thank you enough for your faithful prayers and support !!!

In His Grip

Sami

    ‎2 Samuel 22:33-37
    “It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he enables me to stand on the heights. He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze. You give me your shield of victory; You stoop down to make me great. You broaden the path beneath me, so that my ankles do not turn.

    “He cannot fail, your faithful God;
    He’ll guard you with His mighty power;
    Then fear no ill though troubles rise,
    His help is sure from hour to hour”

    “With God behind you and His arms beneath you, you can face whatever lies ahead of you”

    Sami,
    If you’re talking in slow motion that means its at the same speed as the rest of us.
    I’m recalling the last few years – and the last one in particular. If we didn’t know God is sovereign I think we would go crazy trying to make sense of things.
    Praise God for the blessing of sanity in the midst of seeming chaos. I’m right there with you trusting and holding on.
    I love you brother.
