Platelets Update
Praise the Lord we have enough donors for the remainder of August, which is enough for now. If a donor has a last-minute conflict, please contact Jacqueline asap. Thank you all. I just had my first single donor dose. It was good, I felt much better … seriously, it was different ( I had plenty of the mixed and I could tell the difference – at this stage I am experienced enough to even guess the year and gender of the donor). So I had to contact, no one else but, Dr. Raad, since I wanted to know if it was a placebo effect. Dr. Raad replied to my email with a very Dr. like answer ” no no it is not placebo at all. It is Prayermycin the most effective platelet enhancer ( … still I did feel better).
Specific Prayer Requests
I was informed that on Monday August 15 I will have my first bone marrow test, since I had my Chemo, to be used as a base line. Please pray for a negative result. I will then have another bone marrow test (for the verdict) on Monday August 22. Please pray for a negative result too. I have full faith that our Lord is in full control.
I was also informed that they identified 8 possible bone marrow transplant donors. Please pray that once they conduct their blood tests at least one will be a good match.
Thank you
I cannot thank you enough for everything you have done to date. The prayers of the believers have been priceless. I felt them every step of the way. I still count on them every day. I need them. The Lord heard our prayers and thus, I had peace and joy in the midst of this valley of shadow of death.
Our Houston community has supported us beyond belief. They showered us with their love, support and faithful prayers. As I mentioned in my first blog, it was all so perfectly orchestrated to our maximum comfort level. So how can I complain? The way “everything”, from A-Z, fell into its perfect place made it so obvious that our Lord was in FULL CONTROL. So I am left with nothing but Philippians 4:4 in mind “Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice” – Amen
I also want to thank our beloved in other US cities, Jordan, Lebanon, Canada, Syria, Egypt, Iraq, Ireland, Holland, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, UK, China, and France who have poured their hearts in prayer, who have, and still are, carrying me to the Lord every single day. Your personal emails, blog entries and faithful prayers keep me not even smelling like fire, while in this furnace (Daniel 3:27).
Philippians 1:3
I thank my God every time I remember you
My beloved, your words come like medicine to us all in the form of laughter. Thanks for continuing to bless us!!
Dear Brother Sami, I am praying for you and habibtee Jaco every single day. Your are in our hearts daily. Sami when I share with our friends to pray for you;The best way I can describe your family to them, is they are all minsters and their three kids are three little missionaries:) One day I was praying for you, and here I get this verse that I would like to share with you and Jaco ” For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, Plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 Farid sends his love to you and wants you to know that you are in his prayers daily. Love you Bro Jouana

Your brother forever
Sami,
It’s pretty amazing that you have people all over the world praying for you – actually probably not that amazing given your God and your personality. God is at work here at so many different levels. Right now, we’re praying specifically for His work at the bone marrow test level and the inside-the-hearts-of-Sami-and-his-family level. Let’s praise God for what He’ll do.
From 1 Ti: Grace, mercy, and peace to you from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
I love you brother.
Sami,
Ditto what Jeff said. I mean the “pretty amazing…actually probably not part.” Oh, and the rest too. Looking forward to Good News. Hang in there brother.
Sami…always in prayers for you…what a blessing to read your blogs…
Laura story wrote:
What if your blessings come through raindrops?
What if your healing comes through tears?
What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know you’re near?
…..
What if trials of this life… are your mercies in disguise?

Dear Sami,
I just learned yesterday of your illness – my heart goes out to you and your family. My mother leads a prayer brigade in heaven that has accomplished amazing things. So I’ve asked her to join in with Lundy and I as we pray for your speedy recovery. I was going to call Jacqueline to schedule both Lundy and I to come into Houston to donate but I see that he schedule is covered for now. However we’d be happy to fill in if needed or help with September. It’s beautiful to read how your faith is giving your strength, courage and tranquility during this time. We belong to a small church here in Round Top and will also ask our congregation to include you in their prayers.
I’ll sign up for e-mail notifications so that I can be notified if additional donors are needed.
May God’s peace be with you.
Julie
Sami, your faith and determination has long inspired me. I pray to god that your endeavor ends quickly and you will be able to go back to be around your friends, family and colleagues as soon as possible. The family sends their salutation and wish a speedy recovery.
I called Jacqueline today to check on you. I see you have enough donors for this month but starting in September, I would be more than happy to donate every two days. I will continue to monitor your updates.
Just know that you are on our mind and in our prayers….

Sami,
Prayers and warmest aloha from the Garden Island of Kauai! At St. Raphel’s tonight, our homily was on prayer and faith. I lifted up your platelet donors, your doctors, and you and your family in my prayers. As long as you have your faith, your family and your sense of humor, you will prevail!
In friendship,
Rhonda Sweeney
This trial will make you stronger. It can’t take you out !!!
I have never doubted that “Miracles of the Lord have never ceased to
happen”. They are happening now. Bless His Name.
Thank you Lord for Your mercies. Love you,Mom
Sami,
I know it has been along time since we have been in touch, and I hate that it has to be under these circumstances. I have started praying with you and for you and will continue to do so. As you already know, but I will say anyway, God is the Great Physician, and He is in control. Lean on Him and all your loving friends and family. This is a major trial that He will see you through. You are an awesome witness of His mercy and Grace!!
