May 28, 2012 : Day (-2)

I am done with my 5 days of Super-Unleaded-Pre-BMT Chemo.  Tomorrow is my rest day (yeah!) and Wednesday is my official deuxième BMT – day Zero.  So far, so blessed! PTL. I feel great and ready. An interesting fact is that the Leukemia floor … how can I say it … feels like a déjà vu – not sure why (lol) – I feel like an alumni who finished his Bachelors degree in BMT and has returned for his Masters.  So many familiar faces.  Most of the nurses and physical therapists remember me.  I feel among … friends 🙂

Additionally, through so many assurances from across the world, I am amazed how the Lord has given peace to so many believers through heavenly signs, verses from the Bible and His peace that surpasses all understanding that this time “is it”.  I was  also touched through the many who fasted faithfully on a regular weekly basis, some even while on vacation !  I am very thankful to have such a blessed support system. PTL.

This time around, the Lord also surrounded me with Leukemia patients who had unanswered questions …that I had answers to, acquired through my first BMT Bachelors program.  🙂  Wait untill I am done with my Masters … then the serious ministry will kick in! It was a very blessed feeling to be able to encourage and provide answers the Lord had already provided me through my first BMT journey. PTL!

Thank you for your faithful prayers and support.

We are God’s handiwork created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:10) so let us be confident in this, that He who began a good work in us will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6)

In His Grip!

Sami

Sorry my comment came through almost blank. I wrote and wrote for nothing! Certainly no fun! Anyway, I wanted to tell you, Sami, that the more I read your notes, the more I am in awe in your personality. I don’t write a lot of comments because I really don’t know what to say to a strong person like you. You’re more than amazing. The reason I am writing on your day -2 is to tell you that besides being in my prayers every night and in every Holy Mass I attend, I put you in the hands of Our Lady the Virgin Mary. Your transplant will be in her month — the month of May. God be with you and hands of Our Lady surround you my very dear. Your sister in Christ Eva

Salut cousin chéri, I was so glad to discover your mail this morning, Rima is always giving me news about you, but it’s important to read your post, to see that you are always positive. Je pousse un grand “ouf” quand je reçois ton mail, et quand je le lis j’ai envie de prendre l’avion et de venir te soutenir, toi, ton épouse, Wadad et toute la famille. N’abandonne jamais. On pense toujours à toi. Hugs & Kisses. Jouhaina

    Dear Sami,

“But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind” (James 1:6)
You have the faith, the strength and the peace to get you through your illness. You are missed.

Brother and friend, Remember the Titanic, It’s time to finish our orange juice and get off this boat. I can feel your love and intimacy as we talk. We know it’s in His hands and He has given us Amazing Faith. Great Faith is a gift from God and a fruit of the Spirit. His comfort comes as we trust Him and He gives us the faith to trust Him. It’s ALL HIM. Thanks be to God, cause if it were just up to me, I’d mess it up. I’m heading back to Houston tomorrow and MDA Thursday. I meet with Doctors Thurs. and Fri. and start 3rd cycle of chemo on Friday. I’ll find you (on 11th floor) and we’ll visit. Jeff

    Dear Sami,
We are praying fervently for you brother. Last Thursday we asked to pray for you at a christian doctors fellowship. Today, I received this e.mail for one of the doctors, Carolyn Richardson, that God put on her heart to write this prayer and make sure you receive it.
    Emad

Lord, I praise You because You are Jehovah Rophe-
    Our Healer.
I honor You because you are Jehovah Shalom –
    Our Peace.

I pray as Moses did for Miriam,
    “God, please heal her!”
    Numbers 12:13 HCSB
Lord, I come before Your throne of grace
believing that You will heal me.
    (See Hebrews 4:16)
I decree and declare that this bone marrow transplant
for me will be as the seven days of confinement were
for Miriam, restoring me to complete health.
    (See Numbers 12:12-15)

Forgive our sins as we forgive the sins of others.
Have mercy when we may have doubt, fear or worry.
Remind me of whom or what I should forgive
    so that I can.

Lead us not into temptation and deliver us from all evil.
Deliver me from the negative effects from any
    medication, procedure or treatment.
All physicians and medical staff involved with my care
will submit to the authority of the Holy Spirit.

Lord You are great and greatly to be praised!

I thank You in advance for the victory.

In the Matchless Name of Jesus we do pray,
    AMEN
